dzīvesprieks

Krāsu Serviss, a partner of the Swedish public organisation known as Livs Lust, talks about the Latvian association, Dzīvesprieks.

"I've known the Dzīvesprieks organisation and the people behind it for more than ten years. We have participated in school building renovation work in Vāne and we have been supporters and partners of the painter training program for many years. It means that we pass on our professional experience directly to students by running weekly theory studies and giving students the opportunity to practice what they have learnt in real life. After finishing the course, the best students are offered a job with Krāsu Serviss.

We support Dzīvesprieks because we can clearly see where and how our donated money has been used. We are there because those young people with their own story in life can be offered shelter, support and education. We can help them to find employment and help them to stand on their own feet in life. It is obvious for those who have everything, but very important for those who don’t have it."

- Kristiāns Gabaliņš, SIA Krāsu Serviss Chairmen of the Board

The Livslust Foundation (Swedish for "Joy for life") is an independent private organisation. It is a unique vocational school in Latvia for boys and girls who are at risk of ending up as social outcasts. The goal is to give our students, with their unfortunate start in life, an opportunity to become integrated into society. Most of the students live at the school during their studies. A few, from socially deprived families in the neighbourhood, continue to live at home, but participate in the school's activities. In the safe environment of the school each and every one of them can discover their own talents and develop interests of their own. Read more here…>
